Continuing the “Eater-tainment” legacy of Rocky Aoki
AOKI Teppanyaki offers a culinary experience deeply rooted in authentic Japanese hospitality. Located in Miami, Florida, and O’ahu at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki (formerly known as Benihana and Rocky Teppanyaki), the restaurants are the perfect combination of past-meets-present with “Gasho,” traditional farmhouse-style design inspired by the rustic architecture found in Japanese homes. Massive red Torii gates are a feature at our Miami location, while a tranquil garden and reflective koi pond welcome guests in Waikiki.
Wanting to share his experience when visiting his grandfather’s village in Wakayama, Japan, Aoki Group founder Kevin Aoki included “Inaka” (countryside) comfort food items to the menu. It includes Chicken Gizzards, Kobe Beef, and Jidori Chicken, raised free-range, cruelty-free, and fed an all-natural grain diet without hormones or steroids. Customers can also select signature items like Filet Mignon, Lobster, Foie Gras, and A5 Wagyu beef imported directly from Japan. Professionally trained chefs arrive in sleek, black, Samurai-inspired uniforms at the family-style “Teppanyaki” (iron plate grill) tables, ready to prepare guests’ dishes in a fiery and dramatic display, coining the famous phrase, “eater-tainment.” AOKI Teppanyaki offers a unique dining experience like no other.
Welcome to AOKI Teppanyaki.

Continuing the Rocky Aoki Legacy
Brothers, Kevin and Steve Aoki, started AOKI Teppanyaki with the vision and dream to continue their father’s, Rocky Aoki, legacy of revolutionizing Japanese cuisine in the United States with great food and attention to detail to create a full experience. Both locations in Waikiki and Miami are full with decor that transports you to an ancient Japanese-style village with Torii gate features at the entrance of the Miami location, while a tranquil garden and reflective koi pond welcome guests in Waikiki.
The Aoki Legacy Continues
AOKI Teppanyaki offers a culinary experience right when customers walk through the tranquil “Inaka” (Japanese village) designed entrances. With two locations in Miami and Waikiki, the legendary restaurants are steep in tradition with a modern twist on Japanese cuisine. When seated at the large wooden tables, guests will feel the warmth and caring hospitality similar to the Japanese countryside.

Experience Live “Eater-tainment”
AOKI Teppanyaki withholds the legacy of “Eater-tainment” invented by Kevin Aoki’s father, Hiroaki “Rocky” Aoki, who coined the term during the 50-year long reign as the world-famous, Benihana. When guests arrive at the massive family-style “teppanyaki” (iron plate grill) tables, professionally trained chefs appear in sleek, black, samurai-inspired uniforms. The show begins as the chefs prepare each dish with a fiery, dramatic display.
